caution mess ahead

I can't believe I am showing this to you all. But as my blog title suggest, my craft room is usually cluttered. But this is the worst ever! With 3 events in past two weeks, Thanksgiving holiday, and crafting for schools holiday shop, I can not even see my floor. There should be yellow caution tape across the door!

So, this is my job after the boys sports activities and getting our Christmas tree this morning- to clean my craft room. It really is a small bedroom. I have dreams with our addition planned for this spring of converting the other side of our basement and living large at Ikea.

Anyways, I do have a couple of posts to show you for school craft fair:

what I did with scallop faces, mini candy bar wrappers
and reindeer droppings poem

matchbook golf tee holders
I hope to catch up on all your postings during football games tomorrow or while I decorating the tree!

holiday gifts

This is one of the things my customers made at the gift card class I did last week. It is a great way to present a bottle of wine when you arrive at a holiday party!

Remember the Thanksgiving one I did here

Also, Stampin Up posted their bundle list today for their Extravaganza sale that goes through December 1st while supplies last.

Just go to my demo on-line store here

To see bundles I posted the flyer below:

krafty kids

I made these with my son yesterday, actually he made them I just showed him how to fold the scallop punches. My only other job was to put glue down for googlie eyes and the wobbler.

He is giving them to his teacher's today at school. Heather Summers (shout out to UStampers!) has a video tutorial. I was inspired that she and her daughter made them together, fun activity to do with your kids. It might be a stretch, but I am using it for my SBS24- farm themed challenge too!

Along the same lines, of Krafty kids....

Theses are the cards that the brownie troop made for a unit in Iraq last week. They were so much fun, using tatoo kit and loved cleaning my stamps up after- might have to hire some of them. Not bad for second graders!

Holiday Extravaganza sale start 11/26! You need to check out my demonstrator business website- tomorrow to find out all the details (they haven't even told us !)- you can just order through my on-line store!
But they are bundling up SU products for up to 50 % off retail price, but quantities will be limited! Promotion ends on December 1st.

crazy crafting

Sorry, I have not posted or visited blogs in last few days. I worked with Brownie group to make cards for troops and then I had two days of back to back gift card classes, and finally I was working on making things for our school's holiday fair. We make items for the kids to buy that are priced under $5. So I will share one of my projects with you today.

These are all my scallop faces I made. Not sure if I am going to put them on peppermint patties or make mini candy bar wrappers.

You can check on tutorial on Tanya's blog. "LaLatty" on scs had idea for grinch I just copied. I did change the scallop hat to using square scallop cut in half.

sbs 24 inspiration challenge #7

This was our inspiration challenge this week for sbs 24. Lots of fun colors, did I mention our group adminstrator Kerry loves purple!!!!

I immediately wanted to do circles to go with the pattern on the bedspread. I just go to punching my endless supply of designer paper and used wow flowers set with a rhinestone brad in the middle. Sorry about the scan, I wanted to get the ribbons in the photo.

Easy card, like 5 minutes....love those.

Beate's weekend sketch x 2

I played along with Beate's weekend sketch, although I should be cleaning up my craft area... it is a diaster. I will work on that today, once we attack all the leaves in our yard.
I decided to make two cards, I figured you cut cs in two pieces might as well make two. The one on left I copied one of Beate's idea of using jumbo eyelets and then putting rhinestone brads in the center. The one on right hand side, I used the build-a -brads for embellishment.
card recipe:
stamp: eastern blooms
ink: old olive, really rust, pumpkin pie, so saffron (ink pads and markers)
paper: haiku dsp, so saffron, very vanilla
accessories: old olive 5/8 grosgrain, build a brad, 1/2 inch circle punch, jumbo eyelets, rhinestone circle brads

a pad for Pam

My friend Pam is hosting a workshop for me tonight. We are doing a project based class where they pay $5 to make a stationary set.
She got a great response and looks to be 12-14 guests!
I always make my hostess something special. Since we are already making a stationary set, I decided to give one of the altered DVD tins a whirl. I used some rub-0ns so I remember to mention special going on now!
This is inside of tin.
Tip: If you buy your Jr. legal pads at Staples and they have a copy center, they will cut down your pads from 5 x 8 to 5 x 7 at no cost to you.
I made a little pocket and added a pen holder using grosgrain ribbon and rhinestone brad.
This DVD notepad will be one of projects offered at my "get a jump on your jingle class" on December 8th.

purse tote

I am doing a workshop on Friday where we will be making some stationary sets. This is my go to stationary holder- wow factor but soooo easy.

1) take a sheet of cardstock (8- 1/2 x 11) and score it:
along 8 -1/2 side at:1 -1/4 and 7-1/4
along 11 inch side: 4 -1/2 and 6-1/2
2) you will then cut the bottom score lines at 4 1/2 and 6 1/2 just up to score line from the short side, do this on both sides. ( this makes your flaps.)
3) use some sticky strip and assemble
4) for handles I just used (2) 11 x 1/2 inch pieces attached with brads.

You can decorate as simply or elaborately as you want. I just put a piece of designer paper, but you could do ribbon, more card stock with faux stitching, add a key tag, and more.

sbs24 sympathy challenge

Sbs 24 challenge this week was to do a sympathy card. This is a card I did for a recent workshop using close as memory stamp set, the card stock is confetti white, kraft and mellow moss. The inks I picked off color wheel- pale plum, mellow moss and brocade blue and did my favorite ribbon saving tip to tie knot and just wrap ends around the cardstock. These are the cards you seem to need to have on hand but aren't the always the ones you tend to create.

I am still catching up after being away this weekend and on a field trip yesterday to Plimoth plantation. I hope to catch up on my blog roll sisters and see what they have been up to later today.

snowman swaps

We have our Demo Quartly stamp camp meeting tonight. Should be fun as it is always a blast to get together with other demos. These are my swaps for tonight. I only made 10, since I also organized a 6 x 6 calendar swap. I will post those for you next week.

Here is it close up:
This is not my idea, totally cased from Dawn Griffiths. If you want to make some her tutorial is here.

I am going away with the girls this weekend, so I will catch up with all you on Monday!

Who doesn't love gift cards?

Who doesn't love gift cards? They are easy and everyone can use them. My class next week we are doing gift cards, I came up with 3 different types but there are so many fun ones to do.

We are also going to do a CD holder. Remember back in the day you would make mixed tapes for your friends and boyfriends??? We are also doing a wine bottle topper, because you always need something to bring to the hostess when you are invited to a party.

The Mr. Twigster one is my favorite, a quick an easy project. I got the tutorial from Roxy.

Here's the inside:

I also was asked how you go about signing up to be a chemo angel or card angel. You can find the link here.

Monkeying around

Playing around with sock monkey using Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I decided to pull out the sock monkey, since I did not use him in awhile.
The birthday one, I colored with markers. The one with the flower I did on watercolor paper and watercolor crayons. I was not as happy with the results, making me think I need some copics after seeing whatever one does with them!
And a sad note, I lost a good friend Liz to cancer last week, she was only 44 years old and had two young children. Sadly, we were only communicating at Christmas time as we got busy with our lives and children. So, as wake up call, I decided to reach out to some friends that I have not kept constant contact with anymore.
I challenge you to do the same, life is too short! Reconnect with a friend today :} And cards are great place to start.
