Embossed Snowboarder

I just love all the new "extreme" stamps, all great solid images of cool "teen and tween" things- guitar, skateboarder, surfboarder, dirt bike and this image snowboard. They are only $8.95 too! I choose to do emboss resist technique.
I also used textured plate for big shot and then used direct to paper technique to ink it up to show more texture. The sentiment is from "define your life set".
I sent a bunch of these off to convention with my friend Gwynne to swap out for me.

Royal Blog Tour

Welcome to the Royal Blog Tour

I get to showcase a fun new set in Stampin Up's Fall and Winter Idea book and catalog called Lots of Bots (115293). Having boys, I love any set I can use with them, but this set is versatile. Just by changing the color scheme it could be easily used for girls too!

I was inspired by July's issue of Stampin Success showcasing 3-D items. I made two diorama cards featuring some new in colors crushed curry and soft suede.

This card also uses going my way punch and new modern label punch.

What is great about these cards is they fold up to go in a regular medium size envelope.

But wait, I have more to show you- robots scream metal to me, so I played around with 2 techniques.

In this sample, I used "faux embossed metal". I stamped the image in stazon on a tin foil pan and then used a ball point pen to trace image, then flipped it over and attached with brads.

This set is so versatile to use, I used faux metal technique for next card...

You can see by the use of "Afternoon teaparty" DSP, simply by changing color scheme it can be for girls too!

I used my brads container and paper piercer for the circular shape.

Blog candy!!!! simply leave you name, email address and number post in comment section. Become a follower to my blog and I will give you an extra chance to win!
You can win this great set- lots of Bots!!! Winner will be announced on 7/31.

Very Thankful Turtle

I have been busy making convention swaps. NO, I am not going- no funds this year. However, my fellow demo and friend Gwynne is going and she said she would swap for me. I actually came up with 3 different cards, but I thought I would share this one with you.

This set is the new Ronald McDonald set, called "very thankful", $2 from every set sold goes to support the Ronald McDonald House charities. There are 4 images of thanks for only $14.95. If you are not familiar with RMDH- it is a place for families to stay for free while their child is receiving cancer treatment.

When making a swap, you need to be able to re-create many things over and over in mass production fashion, that is why I went with a simple design.

recipe:
stamp set: very thankful
ink: stazon black (watercolored with soft suede, crushed curry, rose red, celery, old olive, bermuda bay)
cs: water color paper, soft suede, kraft, rose red, thoroughly modern dsp
access: fresh favorites buttons II, linen thread, circle cutter, scallop edge punch

Here are two samples of some cards I made using

Butterfly birthday for Maureen

My niece had a birthday last week, and this is a quick card I made her. I used the butterfly die for my big shot, sentiment from upsy daisy and last year's in-colors and dsp. Of course I still have tons left- use it while I can! I can't believe she is turning 17, lucky we don't age only the kids.

I just returned from a great week of vacation at Cape Cod. I hope to catch up with all of my blog-roll sisters this week.

Alert- Late Night Stampers Royal Blog Tour, is coming July 26, 27,29- there will be 4 tours of 20 stops, lots of great samples from SU IB & C and BLOG CANDY! make sure you check it out

more robots

Okay, you done with the Robots yet? Transformers is huge right now, so I am staying on the kick. A quick card I made for someone who ordered some "boy" birthday cards from me. I can't stop embossing the poor guy- but embossing is my all time favorite technique.

Stay tuned for blog tour coming end of July and see all kinds of stuff I will do with this set!

Tried a tri-shutter

I finally got around to trying out the tri-shutter card. It was on SCS try a new technique a month or so go. It gives a link to great tutorial which made it so easy to do. I broke out my new razzleberry paper, flight of butterfly set and played with it.

here it is closed up, so it will fit in regular envelope. I am adding this card to my 3-D card class I will be having at end of August.

Wicked Good!

Wicked, a slang term meaning awesome, great, wonderful. Growing up in New England we used it a lot during the 80's. However on SCS they have a challenge and the wicked stands for:
Wonderfully
Inspiring
Challenges
keep
educating
Demos
The challenge this month was hosted by Joanne Travis- she gave a (1)sketch which I flipped sideways. (2)Color combos was to use 2 of new in-colors and one neutral- I failed there having to use 3 colors to make my cards work for me.
(3) challenge to use a Christmas set in a "non-Christmas" way.
I chose to sue shellbrate set and to make it non-Christmas, I just covered the little holly on pail with my sentiment. I used new in-colors razzleberry, melon mambo and bermuda bay. I used the new in-color markers on watercolor paper and blended it with an aquapainter.
This card I used same sketch flipped, but made it a Christmas Card- as my blogging friend Mackenzie has been doing with all her cards to build up a stash. I figured I better catch up and start making some! I did use some dazzling diamonds too!

2 way robots

For the other make and take at my open house catalog party we used lots of bots.

Our DSP is two sided, so I made 2 designs with same basic layout. I embossed with silver and used new in-color markers to color them in.

New Catalog party-sneak peek

Tonight I am having my new catalog kick off party! I cased this card in July's stampin success. One of the best things about being a demo is all the great ideas they share with you. Ever thought about being a demonstrator? They are offering a great deal on a starter kit for only $85.

This card features the new stamp set circle circus and uses some of the new in-colors. I liked how they used a circle punch to punch out space to tie ribbon. This will be one of our make and takes tonight!

Red, White and Blue

Check my sidebar- I added links to view the new Idea book and catalog and definately decorative brochure.

Here is another card I made for LNS red white and blue challenge- more glitter and chipboard stars, the little ones I use my star punch and some chipboard backing from a notepad. I did not have any 4th of July sayings, so I printed this one up from my computer and used the new modern label punch.

We are off to Scituate to see friends and fireworks on beach. This is a card I will be giving to them with a few little gifts. Then off to Nanstaket beach for the 4th and seeing Red Sox on the 5th. Hoping the weather turns to sunny and summer, we had major rainstorms the last two days!
May you all have a Joyous, fun and safe 4th of July weekend!!!

oh my stars!!!

Sorry, I have not been posting or checking in on my blog sisters. We are in the process of putting an addition on our house-YEAH. However, my craft room is going to be the pass through room to our new master bedroom and the new laundry room. So, I have been in the process of trying to move myself temporarily to a corner of the basement.

However, I did take a little break to play- not much stamping but some glitter bling for upcoming weekend. My MIL birthday is the 5th of July, so to play along with Late Night stamper's challenge of red, white and blue I decided to make a star bouquet. I ran the not quite navy cardstock through my big shot using textured plate to give basket embossed design. I used eyelet border punch. I used craft ink and heat and stick powder to adhere glitter.

The scallop punch (112091)would also work-Sale alert! Sale alert! And currently this week only July 1-5 you can get it for only $10.99, regularly is it $15.99. Also new Catalog goes live at 12:00 MT today! My new catalog kick off party is this Tuesday July 7th.

This is a photo of beginning of construction- to top corner is my current craft (or should I say crap room). Man- do I too much crap!!!
