sweet pea hostess gift

Wendy Hawkins, shared this great project on latenightstampers with us.  She was even helpful in giving me directions for the box!
Super easy, using the awesome Stampin Up Sweet Pea designer paper pack and making 3 x 6 cards just using designer paper.  I did do a little stamping but would be cute even without sentiment.  I would have to say one of my favorite products that Stampin UP has besides it's great cardstock and rubber stamps is the two sided designer paper.

This was a gift for my friend Lois who hosted a card party for me yesterday.

Vintage Vogue Birthday

I needed a card for my sister's birthday and I gave up Chocolate for Lent!  Thank  Goodness Stamping 411, had a sketch for inspiration, with no chocolate to eat while stamping.   Normally I don't always do bumpy embellishments, so I can mail things- but this is going in her gift package.  So, I broke out my "pretties kit" and used Vintage Vogue  set in Stampin Up's occasion mini catalog.

Extreme Rocker birthday

This is a card I did for stampin connection featured stamper- this week is the Talented Jenn Deireks.  You are suppose to case something of hers and change it up to make it yours.
I needed a birthday card for my son's friend today- so I was glad to have some inspiration to come up with a card.  If you follow the link, you can see where I got inspiration.  Her card was a 3 x 3, I made mine regular sized and changed up curly label for top note.  I also changed the color scheme as dusty durango pack of card stock has not been used much.  Excuse the glare, I embossed the image so the flash made it shiny.

BTW- does anyone have a MAC??? I got pixelmator so I can do a watermark and other features but I am clueless!  It does not work like photoshop- I guess I need to take some time to sit down and do tutorials and play with more.

Stampin Up bird punch

Late Night Stampers challenge this week was to use punches.  I finally got my Stampin Up Extra Large Two- step bird punch in occasion mini catalog, so I combined it with one of my textured plates for the big shot of both the celery and bashful blue card stock.

Great easy 10 minute card!  The stamp is a level 1 hostess set in occasion mini called picture this.

same sketch, different stamp set

I was planning out a class for sympathy and get well cards and the Stamping 411 sketch challenge this week was printed out on my desk- so it was great inspiration.  I used Stampin Up's wellness wishes, which I have been eyeing and got using my sale-a-bration rewards.   This little band-aid is so cute, I paper pieced it with designer series paper (dsp).  I also used good neighbor DSP that is the sale-a-bration dsp.   I ended up sponging the main image as my worksurface was a little messy and I got some stray black ink on the whisper white.  " No mistakes with stamping, just more chance for embellishments!"

Life's a 411 picnic!

Valentines day is over, still cold and snowy here- I needed to move on and think of Spring.  So, I did Stamping 411 sketch this challenge.  This is a level 2 set from Stampin Up's Spring mini catalog called "life's a picnic", don't we wish???  I thought it would be fun to watercolor, so I used watercolor paper to get best results.

Love Stampin Up's Decor Elements

I went a little crazy, putting Stampin Up's Decor elements on some of my walls.
1) CREATE- in my craft room
2) jazzed up my Laundry room wall with a pop of red
3) my 12 y.o. son and I put up guitar, and two snowboarders on his walls.

Warning- these can become addictive!

masculine valentine matchbook treat

I had to make my son's valentines and being 10, they had to not be too girly, but cool boy.

He wanted to give fun dip with his card, so I thought matchbook! Of course I had to come up with my own template as fun dip is bigger than your average treat measuring at 4 x 4.25 inches.

I got the idea from a UK demo, to use heart to heart punch and then line it with paper behind it. I used a retire dsp called rockabilly- loved, hoarded and sadly never used it!
I also used new pinking hearts punch-tip as it is intricate in design it tends to "jam up" just whack punch on table and it will come out.
So my measurements:
cs= 9 x 4.25 (wanted to get 2 out each sheet so I rotated fun dip sideways)
scores 1", 5 .5 and 5.75

Embossed extreme snowboarding

I made this card quickly for my son's snowboarding instructor last week. I used emboss resist technique and Stampin Up's extreme snowboard embossed in black embossing powder. I used my brayer with bordering blue and not quite navy ink.
It's tough to see but I also used my textured plate for big shot on the bordering blue then I used not quite navy ink sponged over it to show the definition better. I also roughed up the edged with my 5 in one tool too!

Late night stampers challenge this week is embossing!

first MDS card

Okay, I finally got MDS program loaded on our computer. We seriously need a new computer- our drive wouldn't read anything. So, my wonderful hubby bought a new drive, but needed a new component as our technology was old to connect it. So, he drove 45 min one way to get the part he needed. He is the best!!!

So, this is my first card I made after watching webinars. Now, I need to move on to scrapbooking, so far behind!

Now, for some hands on paper crafting- these are the projects that our upline Amy came up with for our demo meeting last Sunday. So much fun to stamp with friends, plus we did pot-luck!
Super cute using the felt sweet pea flowers!

Butterfly dies are dynamite!

Late Night Stampers Challenge this week was butterflies. Huge fan of butterflies- my comforter at college was all butterflies!

So I used my favorite products of the moment:

1) Stampin Up's beautiful butterfly Die for big shot
2) sending love designer series paper (it is embossed and glittery- love it!)
3) Stampin up's perfect polka dot impression folder
4) champagne shimmer paint (still available on write in) mixed with alcohol to shimmer the paint
5) elegant bouquet impression folder- I have been reaching for it all week!

This card- I chose to use my neglected pastels to brush over embossed image with a cotton ball.

Finally, Deann Oliver posted a MAD (making a difference challenge)- she is sending a card to one person every day this month! So, I challenge you- send a card to make someone's day. These cards went postal today to some friends just to say I was thinking about them.

calling 411...

This is a Stampin Up Sale-a-bration set called "good neighbors", I played with the Stamping 411, sketch this week. I saw someone use the pinking hearts border punch for a fence or grass, so I thought I would try. Of course, I probably should have moved my trees up as they look more like bushes.
I didn't have a large navy ribbon so, I used my left over scrap from my 6 x 6 prints pack and folded in up to act as my ribbon.
I hope you get to play with your stamps today!
