sewing challenge

The SBS 24 challenge this week was to do sewing on a card. Let's give a little background on my experience with sewing. My mom was a fabulous seamstress, she made our clothes, clothes for my dolls, did slip covers, etc... My two older sisters are pretty adept at sewing too! I can thread the bobbin and do a straight stitch. I did do some curtains from remnants when we first moved into our house.

Anyways, to my reason why I have an aversion to sewing. When my son was 2 (about 9 years ago), I tried to make him a telly tubby costume for Halloween. That fleece put me over the edge and the machine has been in the closet since then.

So, fast forward to today- I used faux stitching by paper piercing around the squares and then using a white gel pen. The stamps are from the new Stampin Up Spring and Summer catalog. Which goes live today- check my website later today to view catalog on line.
They are both hostess sets that you can earn when you host a qualifying workshop. I am currently booking for February and March, and it is sale-a-bration time! Earn free sale-a-bration sets with a $50 purchase.

I think your card turned out very nice - I also have an aversion to sewing machines although I want to get over it but I don't even have a machine right now LOL!

Your card is awesome, Kathy! And it's okay if you're not a great seamstress! I share a similar background, as my mother could not only sew anything, but did alterations all her life - yuck on the altering -- not for me! I can sew okay, but it's not really "my bag"! We all have our strengths & some things just don't appeal to us! It's what makes this ole world go 'round! ;-)
