ode to snow

Like a good portion of the mid-west and east we got snow today! Then it turned to freezing rain, so the couple of inches is slushy heavy wet snow and the pavement will most likey be "black ice". Don't you love winter?
Anyways, the SBS 24 challenge this week was to do a winter themed project. I had an idea in my head for a scrapbook page of our day of sledding over Christmas break. But, it did work out on paper. I figured I would save that for my scrapbooking club at my friend Erica's next week.
So, this is the remnants of my idea- I had some chipboard from back of notepad I ran through my big shot using my snowflake die- and then I inked it with white craft ink, dumped heat and stick powder on it and then some iridescent ice and heated with heat gun. I used a snowflake from short and sweet and build a brad. The designer paper is ski slope from winter mini.
So out of frustration of scrapbooking comes the realization that cards are soooo much easier or quicker! So here is to celebrating Winter!

This is a beautiful card Kathy - love how it turned out!! Sometimes creativity is born out of frustration!! I agree though - cardmaking is definitely much easier than scrapbooking - and I started out scrapbooking - it has fallen so far behind with all my card making projects now!! LOL!
