Happy Mother's day to all you mom's out there! I had an OMG moment, when I got an email from my friend Diane telling me
I made stamper's showcase today with this card.
I did learn this technique (split negative) awhile back on "try a new technique" at SCS. The challenge at the time was not to use any white. I did use the same stamp set they showed, bronc buster. I love embossing and liked doing this technique, so I did a similar card for one of our monthly demo swaps. This one used white however.
I had some free time after cleaning my house on Friday, so I decided to squeeze in some fun stamping time!
I combined two challenges with this card. Beate always gives a weekend sketch challenge. I needed some color inspiration as well. This is this weeks color challenge from SCS: lovely lilac, pretty in pink and certainly celery. Lucky for me I had just one piece of lovely lilac in my stash. I guess it is not a color I use too often. I did get a chance to grab my nestablities, I only own the oval scallops. Thanks to my SBS 8 sister Etha who sent me a pack.
I was also inspired by Debbi from my SU blogging sisters, to use hodgepodge hardware as it is all retiring soon. I have been hoarding my hardware, such a shame.
