Blog candy

It has been one of those crazy weeks. I had a workshop this week, a stamp-a-stack tonight and I am in charge of our school's yard sale this weekend. Of course this is our rain date and of course it suppose to rain. So, it ends up pouring in beginning and then being sunny and almost 70 degrees. Got love NE weather.
Needless to say, I have been really busy with no time to post new stuff or blog surf any of my blog roll friends. I hope to catch up this weekend. I will post pictures of stamp-a-stack cards all birthday themed. SAS are a lot of work, but so worth it to get together with friends and customers to stamp. I usually do this once a quarter. Why birthday, well I started stamping 5 years ago, to celebrate having a birthday bash SAS. Also for you all blog candy. My first, I just started my blog a few months ago and already hit over 5,000! My first was exposed to stamping when I went to a multi-vendor open house and was really intrigued by this woman using pastels chalks on an image. I booked a party in April 2003 and I was hooked. She is now my upline, Erica. I love instant gratification of stamping and giving something I created to others. The best thing about being a demo, is the other woman I meet. I first started blogging, to challenge myself to create almost daily if I could. I never realized what great and creative blogging friends I would meet, learn from and be inspired by their work.

Anyways to enter for blog candy- just post to this entry your first stamping experience and something great you learned from blogging or blog surfing. The winner will be picked randomly on Tuesday April 15th- tax day.

So the winner will get a Wild Wasabi bundle from me, 12 pieces of 6 x 6 designer paper with wasabi in the paper, 5 yards of striped wasabi ribbon, 8 prescored textured wild wasabi cards, and package of SAB rub-ons.

I was first introduced to stamping 5 years ago just after returning to work from maternity leave. A close friend had told me all about a party and said I had to try it. She had a SU party and the rest is history!

My friend Vickie over www.stampingeverafter.blogspot.com opened my eyes to the blog world. I have learned what a huge community this is and how much I can learn from everyone!

I was introduced to stamping almost 13 years ago. I loved it! Went crazy actually... then I got into scrapbooking and I got wrapped up in that and not card making anymore... GAVE away about $3,000 worth of stamps! Purged my crafting closet and thought that was that! Well, in January of this year, I somehow stumbled onto SCS, WOW!!! I had NO idea that such a wonderful world of stamping and creating was out there and right at my fingertips.... many years ago, I found that stamping was "hard" to do and not a lot of papers and such to help you design..... got frustrated with it... anway, I am hooked again... and love it so much more.... the blogs give me daily inspiration, even if you see the same stamps over and over you see so many different takes on it.... every day I am inspired to make something.... AND to not keep it... but to pass it on to someone else..... I try to make 4 things a day and give 12 different people something every week. (I have a big family and church). This blog world is a wonderful community of women. I am so thrilled to have found this happy place!

Thanks for letting us share our story.

I've been stamping for about 2.5 years I guess. I had scrapbooked before stamping (which I was horrible at BTW).One day my best friend that scrapbooked with me said her cousin was having a SU workshop and asked if I wanted to go with her. We'd never even heard of SU, but we went at fell in love with stamping! The rest is history =)!

Thanks for the chance to win!

I started stamping a year ago and love it. My first experience was to buy a stamp, stamp it directly onto the paper, colour the image and call it done. Now I laugh when I look back at those first cards. Last year, I met a Stampin Up rep and learned some tricks in card making.

The neatest thing I learned from a blog was to make a scalloped oval with my punch and then take my Crop-a-Dile and put holes into the each scallop. It looks like lace..So cool and so easy.

I got into stamping six years ago as a scrapbooker, converted from Creative Memories by a friend to SU! I've learned how to make cards from being a demo and using SCS. I finally broke down and become a demo to support my addiction/habit/hobby.

Blogging forces me to use my stuff, not let it gather dust, and be creative, plus, you can learn so much from other people.

I am amazed at how talented and creative other people are, and how genuinely nice folks are in the blogging community we share. I feel like I have friends everywhere! After a long hard day at work, this is such a happy place to be....

Thanks for the blog candy offer. Really nice goodies you have to share.

Ok I'm in. I started around 2000 by first going to do scrapboking and then an SU party. I was hooked at the simplicity and ease to make a card over a scrapbook page. Needless to say that my cards are no longer simple. I have learned many things on blogs and the internet but one technique in particular was the white crayon resist with the brayer. Its an old technique that I learned to do recently.

thanks for the tips!

When I got into stamping I started with a few wheels. Then the next month I had a workshop and got all kinds of free sets. I remeber when I got my first set, I kept being grateful the paper had 2 sides.

When I joined the PIF group I learned the difference between a blog (free) and a website.

Hi Kathy! Great cards you've got here too - thanks for doing this blogging candy - I got into blogging after finding blogs from SCS and realizing what fun it was to read them and then thought about creating my own - it has been an awesome experience - I feel I have learned so much from everyone, especially the challenges - really has broke me out of my comfort zone - congrats on your 5000 hits - that is awesome!!

As Gwen was, I was "almost" introduced to stamping by the same Ilene, only it was 13 years ago. I was her neighbor and she kept trying to get me into stamping. Only after a lady I'd met through my job introduced me to stamping by offering a reduced-fee class, did I get hooked! And as Gwen said, "been buying stuff ever since"!
I discovered blogging many years later, but was encouraged to start my own blog by...Gwen!!! Thank you, Gwen!
Gwen, Ilene & I all belong to the same local stamp group, Designing Divas, and another member's name is Deva (for real)!!!

I was introduced to stamping probably about 6 or so years ago. When I first started scrapbooking...I swore that I would never ever ever start stamping...just because there wer so many stamps out there..and it seemed you would have to buy a new stamp for every project. lol :) Now there's a ton more of stamp companies out there..and I'm loving it still. What I learned from blogs..is too much to type. I think mostly is the coloring with pencils and using gamsol to soften the look. THanks so much for the chance to win.
