Coach thanks

I made this card for my sons' baseball coaches. He was on the Astros, so I was duplicating their colors and the star of the Astros. They were suppose to have a father-son game yesterday, but only got 1-3/4 innings in of play due to the lovely weather pattern we have been having in New England. While the the rest of the country is having a heat wave, our June has been 60 degrees and rain for the majority of the month. So, depressing not to have Summer yet.


Anyways here is what I used on the card:
cs: ruby red, whisper white, basic black
ink: basic black, ruby red
stamp sets: all retired-sporting goods, wonderful words and current set sporting
accessories: large and small star punch and sissix stampin up billboard alphabet

Quick sneak peek

Quick card- playing around with a new set in upcoming catalog and new in-colors. This cardbase and ribbon features Bermuda Bay and the stamp set I used is circle circus and some punches!

It's a quilt thing!

I had a nice Girls weekend away to Cape Cod. My friends mom is a customer of mine and we got to spend some time together, because unfortunately my friend got a stomach bug. Sadie is a big Quilter and she was showing me some of the projects she was working on. She also placed and order for a stamp set, so I wanted to make her a card to Thank her for her order and for letting me stay at their house.
This card was inspired by my attempt to try "faux quilt card". Not too hard, just punched a bunch of 1-1/4 inch squares from a hostess pack of designer paper. Then just snailed them down and drew on "x" with my black journaling marker.
The sketch is Late Night Stampers sketch challenge #25.

Rockabilly Designer Paper

I finally broke up another designer paper that is retiring on June 30th. I had to make a thank you card for a teacher who ran an afterschool "Goosebumps club". She volunteered her time and there was no charge to the kids. We collected money for some gift certificates for her and I made the card. I used " Just Jawing"set embossed in white embossign powder on black background. I also embossed the "you rock" in black embossing powder and by running my finger nails over the paper I was able to break up the fibers to to bend the flag. I then used red glitter for the eyes with my 2 way glue pen. I realized the embossing powder was still a little sticky so glitter was clinging to that too. I used my handy dandy finger nails to clear that off too after I took photo.

Getting Wheely with it!

I love our Stampin up Wheels! I used the jumbo "Symphony" wheel in basic black ink. As it is an outline stamp, I watercolored in the images using a blender pen and pushing the top of ink pad to get ink to pick up with blender pen.

I used eyelet border punch and "note of thanks" from Thank you kindly stamp set. Super easy gift card set for my son's Viola teacher.

Walk in the park- teacher gifts

My son's teacher loved the card tin organizers with some all occasion cards included I have made for auctions and raffles at school. So, I broke open my "walk in the park" designer paper from Spring mini and quickly covered a provo craft lunch tin. It has a lot of current in-colors that retire on June 30th, so I wanted to use it up!



But I have more! I made coaster post-it note holder with matching pen using same paper. This will be for school secterary. Super easy directions:
- dsp measures 4 x 8-5/8, score at 4 on each end
- (2) pieces of 4 x 4 dsp to cover 4" coasters
-then just attach uncovered side of coasters to longer piece of dsp
- add post it note holder attached with sticky strip and ribbon to hold pen
- I just rolled a 1x 3-3/4 piecs of dsp inside RSVP Pen. Bargain Alert! These pens are on sale at Staples this week!

Summer Wedding

I hosted an invitation swap awhile back, and never posted photos! This was my sample a gate fold wedding invitation and save the date card using "Seaside" stamp set. I embossed the shells in white embossing powder. I think, if I was making a large quantity, I would use white craft ink vs. embossing all them! The inside is 5 x 7 inches, I made the card base 10 x 7 and then scored at 2.5 at each end to make gate fold. I cut out shells stamped on whisper white and put on dimensionals to close.

Here is the inside- I printed on Vellum card stock and then used 5/8 white satin ribbon to attach it. Like my fake names I came up with?

Is it summer yet?

I copied this directly off Stampin Up site of samples of last chance sets. This one features "life's a breeze". I hardly ever use pacific point blue and loved this bright color combo.

Title post? It has been in the 60's all week, wet and gray. Waiting for my sunny and 80's to start, pool club is open and kids only have one more week of school.

Watercolor shells

I feel like I have been going mock 10 with my hair on fire lately, so no time to post or check out my friends blogs. Hope to catch up later this week, after I put the fire out. Also, I was lacking mojo or inspiration.

Late night stampers challenge this week was to use your "last chance" list stamps. Heck, I started that last week. However, this is my absolute favorite set-"seaside", the only one that made me tear a little.

I had a "slap my head" moment I could use this set like I did for the watercolor roses that everyone has been using fifth avenue floral to do, and off to my stamp room I went. I ran the creamy Carmel through my big shot using distressed textured plate. The sentiment is also from last chance list-big bold birthday, I just used a marker to omit the rest of the stamp and then used my small oval punch. I even pulled out some old hodgepodge hardware, as I am a confessed although reforming hoarder, I thought it went well with twill ribbon.

belated birthday

My son has the best principal in the world, and I found out her birthday was 2 days ago. So I grabbed my "humor in high heels" stamp set and did some paper piecing with some print patterns designer series paper in appricot appeal. Then I used my color wheel to find out cameo coral, certainly celery and bashful blue were cooridinating colors. Sometimes I think I should by an extra color wheel to keep in my bedroom to help me pick up stuff to wear!

I also got to use the flower assortment brads, such a fun embellishment!

Stay tuned- I plan to break open my Rockabilly speciality paper and come up with something! (Hoarder alert!)

Use em' before there gone

With "last chance" list out, I was inspired to play with them. This set is doodle this - I loved using this set and then sadly for last year just been sitting on my shelf. I combined the

wicked color challenge on SCS (pirouette pink, kiwi kiss, riding hood red and basic black) with embossing challenge on Late night stampers group. This is diamond dust technique.

The scan does not do it justice, so sparkly. I really need to take more photos vs. lazy scanning of cards.

Reruns = time to stamp

It is that time of year, all reruns on television. So, it was much more productive to stamp and start some of my summer reading. I needed to make another thank you card that was masculine for my son to give out.

As the "last chance" list came out yesterday- I decided I needed to play with those before I can not use them to "demo" anymore. The embossing part (my favorite technique) inspiration came from Late Night Stampers challenge this week.

I actually won "organic outlines" at convention last August! (please excuse the unattractive photo- but hey I just won FREE RUBBER!). Sad, finances won't allow me to go this year.
