fond farewell to some last chance stamp sets and colors

I wanted to play around with some of my favorite stamp sets on Stampin Up's last chance list and some of the retiring colors too.

Love this stamp set Humor in high heels, might be a keeper in the collection.  I grabbed some mellow moss and paper pieced the dress in mellow moss prints dsp from hostess items.  (notice pic above, totally lost my ribbon! yikes)  I used color wheel to match with brocade blue which is also on the way out.

I used Garden Whimsy,  sad to see go- great set to use Rock n' Roll technique.  The color scheme Orchid Opulance and Pixie Pink.

I kept the cards fairly simple as I was trying to come up with some quick and easy cards for my fond farewell card buffet at end of the month.

Builder wheel fun and tutorial

I finally had some time to play around with the new builder wheels in Stampin Up summer mini catalog.  These are the three I ordered so many stars, birthday and candle crazy.  You need to order the builder wheel spindle and spacers separately, then you put cap on to clip into jumbo wheel handle.
This is with out any spacers and putting cap on end of spindle.

I then used a uninked triple cell cartridge and put in tempting turquoise, pumpkin pie and melon mambo inks.  Careful, mine got a little juicy from over-inking- I needed to roll on paper towel to get rid of excess.

Fun background as you can see rolling through 3 different colors.  However, you can also use the spacers included and just use 1 or 2 wheels at a time.
this is a card my upline Erica made using that technique and just rolling through an ink pad vs. using inked up cartridge.

Operation write home

Operation write home is a great organization that sends cards to service men and women overseas.  They are hosting a blog hop this weekend, so check it out OWH stars and stamps.  As memorial day approaches,  remember the men and women who served and continue to serve to keep us safe.

They are always in need of cards and card fronts, so it is a great place to send all those cards we make!

411 Peacock

I needed some thank you cards this week, so needed inspiration I went to stamping 411.  I used their sketch challenge to come up with this using Stampin Up's Ronald McDonald house set called very thankful.

I embossed the image on mambo melon cardstock and used embossing folder for Sixxix big shot.

Officially a mom of a teenager!

My son turns 13 today, yikes I officially have a teenager now-let the craziness begin.

My son Quinton loves snowboarding, so I made this card for him yesterday using Stampin Up's extreme snowboarder.    I had some glossy cardstock left over from my motorcycle card I posted for Royal blog tour, so I used that for inspiration and embossed the snowboarder, used some ripped post it notes to block out for snow and just sponged on some color.

He liked it!  Even know it was close to 80 degrees here today.
